William Kerley

is an award-winning director of opera, theatre and film. For five years he was Resident Stage Director at conductor Lorin Maazel’s Castleton Festival in Virginia, USA. Recent work includes the first new US production of George Benjamin’s Written on Skin for Opera Philadelphia, the Chinese premiere of Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the NCPA in Beijing, China, La Boheme at the ROH in Muscat, Oman and the fiftieth anniversary production of Britten’s Gloriana at the Aldeburgh Festival. Theatre work includes Richard Bean’s The God Botherers at the Bush Theatre starring Sunetra Sarker and David Oyelowo. His first feature film The Mad Axeman will be released in autumn 2019.
